Sentani Airport is Papua's main air gateway and serves flights to major cities in Indonesia. Apart from that, Sentani Airport is also the home base/base for pioneering airlines to the interior of Papua and as one of the transportation objects that affects the lives of many people every day, ensuring security at the airport is an absolute must for PT. Angkasa Pura I as airport manager.

Where airport security is the responsibility of all parties, both stakeholders and service users, aviation security personnel are one of the front guards tasked with airport security. In carrying out their duties, each personnel is required to be skilled, agile and have a deep understanding of various types of threats from inside and outside the airport and are supported by equipment, one of which is Explosive Trace Detection (ETD).

PT. Angkasa Pura I held Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) training for aviation security personnel together with Sentani Airport Stakeholders Wednesday (13/12).

“PT management. "Angkas Pura I, as the airport manager, routinely and continuously carries out a program to increase capacity and facilities for aviation security personnel," said Sentani Airport GM Erik Susanto.

Early detection of explosives using Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) at airports is one of the security procedures that must be carried out in a series of security checks. To date, many airports in the world have increased security standards by implementing explosive trace detection checking, added Sentani Airport GM Erik Susanto.
