The earthquake was followed by 60 aftershocks. Sentani Airport Stakeholder Relations Manager, Surya Eka, ensured that this earthquake did not affect aircraft flights at Sentani Jayapura Airport.
According to Eka, from this morning until this afternoon, airplane flights at Sentani Jayapura Airport were running normally and there were no delays after the earthquake. "Plane flights at Sentani Jayapura Airport have been running normally and safely," he said
"No Sentani Airport building facilities were damaged. All facilities are still good and safe," he said. Head of the BMKG Observation Division for Region V Jayapura, Danang Pamuji explained, the 4.9 magnitude earthquake that occurred this morning in Jayapura City resulted in some buildings experiencing minor damage. According to Danang, from information received from various parties, especially from the Jayapura City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), there had been damage to hotel buildings, hospitals and restaurants (restaurants) due to the earthquake.
