Sentani Airport Opens Post to Deal with Increase in Eid Mudik Traffic

PT Angkasa Pura I Bandar Sentani is ready to face an increase in passenger and flight traffic during the 2023 Eid homecoming period. We hope to be able to serve passengers better, one of which is the management of opening the 2023 Eid Transportation Post (1444 H). This was done to anticipate a surge in passenger and aircraft movements during this year's Eid homecoming season. Regarding preparations for the Eid homecoming flow, today Sentani Airport opened an integrated post consisting of all relevant stakeholders from the Airport Authority, Airnav, airlines, Quarantine and the Indonesian National Police. Sentani Airport is preparing the equipment and resources needed and infrastructure that may later be needed to support increased traffic ahead of the Eid holiday. Sentani Airport has opened an Air Transport Post for Idul Fitri 2023 today (13/4) and the post has been open for 19 days from April 14 2023 to May 2 2023 said Sentani Airport Stakeholder Relations Manager - Surya Eka If you look at the traffic data yesterday, April 12, 2023 Sentani Airport served 4,363 passengers, up 22% compared to last year which consisted of 2,206 arrivals and 2,157 departures. For flight traffic data for the April period, the average passenger rate is still at 3,500 passengers per day, where in the total traffic for the April period to April 12, 2023, Sentani Airport served 42,078 passengers. When compared to last year's period, passenger traffic fell -13%, namely 48,190 passengers. As for aircraft this month, Sentani Airport has served 1,197 flights, down -19% compared to last year's 1,484 flights. For cargo at Sentani Airport, it fell -17%, namely at 2,879,613 kg compared to last year's 3,450,045 kg.
