CLOSING OF CHRISTMAS SERVICES POSTS 2022 AND NEW YEAR 2023 - SENTANI AIRPORT

Simultaneously the Integrated Air Transport Post for Christmas 2022 and New Year 2023 was closed via video conference by the Indonesian Minister of Transportation (Mr. Budi Karya Sumadi) virtually with stakeholders related to Sentani Airport in the Hall of the Building Floor 3 of PT Angkasa Pura I Office Sentani Airport - Jayapura .

Sentani Airport has carried out an integrated postal service for Christmas transportation for 16 (sixteen) days, from 19 December 2022 to 03 January 2023.

"Based on the results of the evaluation, the implementation of the Nataru command post has run smoothly, in an orderly, safe and conducive manner. The closing of the integrated post was attended by representatives from the airport authority, personnel from the TNI POLRI, AIRNAV, the Port Health Office, BMKG and other stakeholders," said Sentani Airport Stakeholder Relations Manager, Surya Eka

On the occasion of closing the Nataru post, it was conveyed that the peak of the homecoming flow at Sentani Airport occurred on D-2, namely on Friday 23 December 2022 with a total of 7,140 passengers and the peak of the return flow occurred on D+2, namely on Tuesday, 3 January 2023 with 5,838 passengers

"Judging from the data from the Integrated Post at Sentani Airport, the cumulative (16) sixteen day post period from December 19 to January 3, 2023 for passengers has reached 91,141 passengers, up 9 percent from last year, which was 83,297 passengers, while flight traffic reached 2,336 flights rose 3 percent from last year's data, namely 2,258," Surya explained.

Meanwhile, cargo during the post period reached 5,840,920 kg, up 2% from last year's 5,729,433 kg

If we look at the data recorded by the Sentani Airport Nataru Command Post, where the average daily passenger traffic reaches 5,700 passengers per day, an increase of 9% when compared to the 2021 period which transported 5,200 passengers per day.

"Flights themselves experienced a 3% increase, reaching 146 aircraft movements per day when compared to the 2021 period which was 141 movements per day. Meanwhile, cargo itself has increased by 2%, which averaged 365 thousand kg compared to 358 thousand kg in 2021," added Surya Eka

Scheduled flights currently operating at Sentani Jayapura Airport include Garuda, Citilink, Lion Air, Wings Air, Batik Air, Sriwijaya Air, and Trigana Air with favorite destinations namely, Jakarta and Makassar and for intra Papua are Wamena and Oksibil.
